We have been trying to experience all the restaurants in the Asheville area. The other night we were driving into town and saw Casa Maya. It was great! The service was the best, and the food was excellent. I had ordered a chicken dish that was very tasty, and my wife ordered a beef dish that was just as good....

We drove past Casa Maya yesterday and it is now closed and soon to reopen as yet another Mexican restaurant.

A little north of Asheville is a gem of a Cuban restaurant. The owners are Cuban and really know how to prepare such dishes as masita and peccadillo. The Cuban sandwich and ma-masita are to die for in no small part because of the excellent pork and other ingredients. The appetizer sampler is generous feeding two hungry people amply.

My daughter and I, along with Portuguese and Cuban friends, ate lunch here yesterday(9/15/13). I had an excellent Picadilla a la Cubana with Moro Rice and Plantanos Maduros. Our friends, who delight in making their own Cuban dishes at home, both commented how wonderful their meals were. We will be returning many times in the future and taking friends there....

My wife and I ate at Casa Maya this evening (09/14/2013) and found the whole experience delightful. The food was delicious, the ambiance clean and comfortable, and the staff was determined to please.
We ordered from the Cuban menu both dishes were muy bueno. I had the Churasco Maya and my wife the Picadillo a la Cubana.
