Help us make it rightMan I wish I would have had time to do my homework before dropping my truck of at Capitol Automotive. I dropped my truck off midafternoon to have a problem checked out. Later that evening I received a call from Ben. He had not diagnosed the problem but began talking about services and issues that I had not ask him to preform. After the call I began to look around on the internet and was shocked by some of the reviews. First thing the next morning I called the shop and explained that had had decided to take the truck elsewhere. Ben explained that the truck was not ready and would not be ready till later in the day. This was a suprise to me, because I thought I had only autherized diagnosis of the problem. When I came to pick the truck up I was shocked that the bill was $494. Ben had preformed all sorts of "maintaince" to the truck which I had not approved. On top of that, the pricing was way out of line, Come on $59 for an oil filter!! Bens trick is to have you sign the approval section of the work order when you drop the vehicle off and then fill in the blanks afterward. I'm glad my truck was there for only one afternoon, I feel I may have saved myself thousands.

If you have a diesel engine built before 1974, then Ben Mathis is somewhat suited for servicing your engine. The alcoholism, chemical exposure, and years of stressful abuse-giving he has done to himself has taken it's toll on his brain, but old diesel motors is all he was ever trained to do, and that is all he is qualified to fix.
