Nice Hotel, But

We stayed at Candlewood Suites on our way back to Annapolis MD from Charleston SC. The hotel is very nice; the staff are very friendly and helpful. 2 major caveats about staying here:
-the beds are very tall. My wife has bad knees and I had to get a stepstoll so she could climb into bed
-Amtrak runs right behind...

The nearby trains didn't bother us once inside the hotel, but the thin walls certainly did! We could hear the radio, which was on all night, from the room on one side, the TV from the other side, and the herd of elephants above us (which thankfully stopped by midnight). The room was clean, though, and the staff was pleasant...

The staff was extremely helpful and friendly. The room was clean and comfortable. I heard a couple of trains but only when I was outside of my room and even then they were not loud, they sounded like they were off in the distance definitely did NOT need earplugs as I read on other reviews. My wife and I just made a 2 day drive from the Tampa, Florida area to upstate NY and decided to spend the night just over half way. After an internet search I found the Candlewood Suites, and their prices seemed to be the best around this region and it appeared to be a nice hotel.
