Thank you so much for the wonderful night you made possible for my girlfriend and I. Everything was perfect from the excellent service to the special little touch I asked you to add to her dessert plate. Absolutely the finest steakhouse we have ever experienced. Byrd and Baldwin Brothers is now officially "our" place.
One of Tidewater's best kept secrets. We arrived for a 5 pm Sunday reservation, and enjoyed a drink at the bar until the rest of our party arrived. The bartender (Elizabeth) gave us menus to look at while we waited and offered several suggestions, letting us know what the specials were that night. Upon being seated at our table, our server, Ladi, introduced himself and apologized for being new and struggling with English. He did just fine and was attentive, without being intrusive. The salads were both imaginative and flavorful. We all had steaks and the Harris Ranch prime beef was perfectly cooked and seasoned and melted in our mouths. An unexpected bonus was the Sunday Wine special - all wines 50% off with entree. The only glitch in a flawless experience was the lack of bearnaise sauce on one of the steaks that was ordered and paid for. I'm also appreciative of entrepreneurs who make creative use of historical buildings rather than tearing them down. Good job, Dr. Sigfred!
Absolutely the best Steakhouse In Virginia and North Carolina. Try the porterhouse is melts in your mouth. My wife had the crabcake and said it was the best she had ever eaten and we travel all over. The service was super.

The beef was excellent but way overpriced. Sides are extra but 1 side can easily serve 2. Service was Tidewater Typical....in other words, no attention to detail , just get the food whenever. The…
If you want the best quality steak, then this is your place. You will not find a better steak in Hampton Roads, period. The prices are fair for the quality, but you are looking at dropping $100 for…

Meat lovers and others will enjoy a visit to this steakhouse and eatery which serves some hearty and mouth watering dishes. These include pan roasted lamb rack, veal porterhouse au poivre, filet mignon and vanilla bean creme brulee.
The steakhouse opened in 2006, but the building has been standing since 1906 and originally a home to a real estate investment firm. As you would imagine, the original floor plans, roofing, as well as the electrical and mechanical components were replaces, modernized. Byrd and Baldwin uses only grain fed Midwestern all natural beef, which is also aged on site. The historic building atmosphere...
