In 1947 my father Hollis I. Brown and his good friend Louis F. Violette both of Seabrook, NH had been laid off from their respective jobs and went into business hauling lobsters out of Maine and selling them to markets throughout the Merrimack Valley.

In 1948 they opened a lobster pound on Rte.1 in Hampton, NH by the Taylor River and ran that for two years. In 1950 they left there and...

Brown's is a great place to go for lobster in the rough and steamed clams. Very informal and nice for being with visiting friends for an afternoon. You eat on picnic tables, but it's clean and wide open. My only complaint would be ...

A small, greasy clam roll for $9.50, big disappointment! I wet to this place after seeing it in a TV show, it is the worst place I have ever bee too. Small portions, extra expensive, greasy ad filthy....
