We had been wanting to try Brookville, so made a dinner reservation for New Year's Eve. Perhaps our expectations were too high -- and, while the food was very good, the service was mediocre and the ambience was....."meh". Always have an amazing experience here. Friendly and welcoming staff. Great beverage program. Menu is always changing and always fun - not to mention well-executed. This is among the best restaurants Charlottesville has to offer.

Overall, had a good experience at the Bookville. The sound level is very low and was a good environment for extended conversations. The food is very good and comes from local sources. It's not cheap though! A hamburger was $25, for example. But soup, steak, and pork were of outstanding quality. A good place to go, if one doesn't mind the priciness.
