Can not try on slings/carriers in store

I went to this store this afternoon specifically to try on (and buy) a particular carrier. However, when I got there, I was told by the clerk that I could not try the carriers/slings on with my daughter. I would have to attend a session that is held once or twice a month (for a fee, I think she said $30) to try on the different carriers. I already have a sling and another carrier, my daugher is one year old, and I am 99% sure I will be buying this particular brand carrier, so the ""session"" idea doesn't really work for me. Just want to let people know about this, since I traveled over 45...

A small boutique (and the only one in Brooklyn specializing in breastfeeding), it sells nursing bras, baby woolies, books and accessories to support new mothers. It rents and sells breast pumps, and offers classes and new mothers' groups where moms can meet and share stories.
