Randy Settenbrino, a Brooklyn-born artist and real estate developer, decided to open this hotel that revels in its past. Mr. Settenbrino employs old toilet tank brackets as decorative features and lines the walls with ephemera, including newspaper clippings recovered from the building's boarded-up apartments. The trouble is, recalling the plight of impoverished immigrants is a peculiar mission...

Blue Moon Hotel Review

The Blue Moon sets the scene for visitors eager to explore old New York. Housed on historic Orchard Street, the small hotel puts guests a quick step away from the Tenement Museum and other Lower East Side attractions. The 22 suites pay homage to celebrities from the 1920s and '30s with names such as The Marx Brothers, the Eddie Cantor and the Al Jolson. Accommodations range from 320 to 750...

Booking Issues

I was booking the room for my niece, paying on a travel site....Bookings. This prompts the issue of not having the card at check in. It can be worked out with an authorization form and ID emailed in. I called before I booked and was told this would be fine. Later I was told we can't book without the card at check in. I live hundreds of miles away.Really lousy service.

Terrible environment

the bathroom is terrible. I can adjust the water temperature so I have to suffer the hottest water that nearly killed me. Plus, the roommates are also terrible. They made too much noise in the morning

4 Nights in Dormitory

Little bit overpriced for a dormitory in my opinion. Generally is clean hotel in a nice neighborhood. No additional services are provided ( kitchen area ) or bar. Only opportunities to eat is to go around the blocks.

Ok place to stay

Old building on a side street, but rooms are clean. It is a 2-star facility at best and overpriced as compared to other hotels in the area. There are a couple of restaurants down the street but limited choices in the area for food.
