Bleu Boheme Restaurant Review

Owner/chef Ken Irvine's bohemian bistro and wine bar, with its blue doors, chalkboard menus, stone walls and communal tables, fits nicely into eclectic Kensington. At the bar, a lively set gathers for cheese and charcuterie plates paired with fine wine. Others nibble on Carlsbad mussels cooked in white wine and shallots and served with pencil-thin fries. For dinner, we suggest the coq au vin,...

Kensington's latest corner bistro features French classics on a chalkboard menu and plenty of candle-lit ambiance.

The Scene
Exposed wood beams and rustic stone walls convey Bleu Boheme's provincial theme at the entry. Floor-to-ceiling, wooden wine racks, mason jars holding silverware and french music...

Very overpriced and not very tasty. If I spend $260 including tip for a meal and drinks for 2, I expect to be blown away, not underwhelmed. This was a special occasion event for my spouse and I. The ambiance was pleasant, rustic and French. The service was great and friendly. The Escargo and Moulles were fair at best. The food was excellent, had a hard time deciding since it was my first time getting French food but ended up with the Duck, some sparkling champagne, and delicious flourless cake for dessert. Be prepared to spend some money though on dinner and drinks, it was very filling and worth it for a special occasion though.
