OK we all know everyone in here offers the best BBQ around. But there are only a few places in Richmond, VA. that really do have the best BBQ in my opinion so here is a little teaser and opinion I wrote up.
Benny's BBQ has been in the Richmond area for over 15 years and what's surprising to everyone, they have never advertised, yet old and new customers and BBQ lovers come from all over Virginia to Benny's BBQ to have "Simply the Best in BBQ" in Richmond. Benny's BBQ really lives up to that slogan.

Our food was really good. We had the smoked beef. Waitress was friendly and very helpful. The side dishes are all handmade on sight and we're all very good.
Haven't been to Benny's new locations so wanted to check it out. As usual food was good but the waitress was blah. Never smiled that I can recall. Had the personality of a slug. I think her name was Brenda. Would go back but I hope we get a different waitress.
Visited Benny's BBQ for an afternoon lunch because we had never been there, we love BBQ and Jeff Katz recommends it on a daily basis on WRVA. The overall impression -disappointment. Benny's serves very good BBQ which is prepared fresh, on site. The service is fine with a very friendly wait staff. Not too fancy here, more of a casual atmosphere with country style wooden tables and chairs and, booths. Pricing of entrees, sides, etc is a bit on the high side for similar BBQ establishments. I tried to take my 95 year old mother here for a barbecue not long ago. We sat down and were served drinks, but then the waitress completely forgot about us. We literally never saw her again. We waited about 20 minutes before finally getting up and leaving.
