Hogo is a word used in the Caribbean to designate "high taste"--shortened from the French word hâut-gout--but it really describes the funky, inexplicable taste that you find in traditional aged-rums. This defines the quality that Tom Brown, co-owner of The Passenger, wants to bring to his bar of the same name. Inspired by his Caribbean adventures and The Passenger's beloved Tiki Tuesday, Tom...

Editorial reviews from the web (3)

You'll feel as if you're "walking through a music video" at this "long, narrow" bi-level lounge in Mt. Vernon Square where grown-ups looking to "avoid the college kids" "chill" on low sofas; drinks can be "expensive" (so "enjoy" happy-hour specials), but with a rotating roster of DJs and "terrific" service, it's a popular choice for a "night on the town."

A split-level, split-personality downtown lounge with artistic lighting, hip-hop beats from the DJ, and a gaggle of very happy Happy Hour patrons. Yes, this lounge either isn't quite sure what it is, or it's merely one of those bars that just has it all. Regardless, it plays to the multidimensional partier: someone chic enough to appreciate the plush leather seating and purple-lit exposed...

Citysearch Editorial Review

This multi-level club near Mt. Vernon square is hard to miss--purple lights and a pulsing mix of hip-hop, reggae and dancehall radiate down the block. Well-dressed revelers can expect everything...

I go to Bar 7 way more than I actually should....but the happy hour drinks are super cheap and the music is pretty good. I believe all happy hour drinks and food are about $5-$7. The food isn't...

Look Good: The club will enforce its no boots, no baggy pants policy, so dress to impress the stylish crowd.

Parking: Valet service is offered, but there are several less expensive self-park lots within a five-block radius, and the Mt. Vernon Square metro stop is only a block away.

Know Before You Go: Bottle service table reservations go into effect by 9pm, but all are welcome to grab a table until then.

The Extras: The restrooms are not for the modest. All feature frosted doors that reveal a silhouette of the activity inside.
