THIS RESTAURANT IS CLOSED Bamboo House Restaurant Review

A massive tree trunk carved into a mountain tableaux complete with wild horses stands guard in the foyer to let you know that this Chinese restaurant, sibling of Joey Chiu's Greenspring Inn, has intentions. Yes, it's located in an ugly strip mall, but inside all is pleasantly attired in soothing pinks and grays. More importantly, the seafood specialties are worth seeking out. Sometimes you'll...

This restaurant is closed - when it was open we liked it even though the service was spotty. Nothing else has taken its place

This used to be the number one Chinese restaurant in the area, but now that it has been sold, the food is horrible!

I used to get takeout about once or twice a month and I we dined there 2 or 3 times a year. I went to the Bamboo House so often (for about fifteen years) simply because the food was great, service was fantastic and the prices were fair.

Since Joey sold and his sister was around less, our takeout started having problems. Joey’s sister NEVER had problems making sure the orders were perfect. I also noticed dishes that we had ordered for years were now being made with processed chicken instead of fresh. BLLLLLLLLLaaaaaacccchhhhhh.

I gave the Bamboo House one last try on January 18th but...

We had many good times there. What happened? Place is depressing and empty and waiter was very bad. Manager won't do anything - guess staff is all his family? Imagine taking out of town relatives to a ""nice restaurant"" and ending up in the Burger King in the parking lot? I was embarassed as I did not realize it has changed hands.

We think it's a wee bit sick, but apparently you can choose which lobster you'd like devour right from his happy home in the fishtank in the lobby at this Asian restaurant. We'd rather stick to the sushi bar or the menu of other Asian dishes that don't involve live contact with our future dinner, but that doesn't mean you have to.
