Help us make it rightSuperior ballet training - the best in San Antonio! The school's director, Mayra Worthen, has a proven track record of more than 30 years of training students who have gone on to professional ballet careers with major performing companies. She also is the founder and creator of Ballet San Antonio, the city's premier performing company. Her instructors are excellent!! Stop by and try out or watch a class and you'll see for yourself.
Do not believe the negative comments below....they must be fabricated or other dance companies posting false reports. I'm a real Mom with my 8 year old daughter who attends BSAA.
My daughter and I tried a lot of ballet studios before this one. We used the free trials with several schools. A friend recommended BSAA. Her daughter goes here and was chosen to be in the last 2 productions of the Nutcracker.
My daughter did not have ballet clothes to try the class in, she was just wearing shorts and a tee shirt. They asked if she wanted a ballet leotard and ballet shoes to borrow. She looked...
I have done much research on a ballet school for my daughter. After looking all over San Antonio, I have found Ballet San Antonio Academy to be the perfect place for her. Not only are the instrucors well-educated and professional, but they genuinely care about the total well-being of my little girl. The director is hands-on and approachable, always a warm smile. We have enjoyed the program immensely, and you won't find a better value for your money anywhere.
I have lived in 3 different states and trained as a dancer - as well as received a degree in Dance. Now raising my own children - I can honestly say that some of the best instruction I have seen across the country - exists here in San Antonio.
Sure sometimes there can be challenges, but you get that everywhere you go.
Dollar for dollar - well worth the technique and training my children are receiving.
A strong disciplined program - that is always rewarding for the kids.
Check out Ballet San Antonio Academy - it's more than just ballet too!
We pulled our daughter out for a different reason. We were very disappointed in the quality. They have very low expectations of the students. Much of the lesson time is wasted (they start late and fuss around with music and allow students to come in late which disrupts everyone) and they don't learn nearly as much as they could be learning. We attended the ""demonstration"" and came away shocked at how bad it really was.
Cons
- quality of instruction is poor
Classes are offered for ages 3 to Professional
Creative Movement, Pre-Ballet, Ballet, Pointe, Pilates, Jazz, Modern and Hip Hop are available.
