The bone-rattling power of the freight train’s whistle is a showstopper, especially if you happen to be dining outdoors on the uncommonly pleasant deck when the train rolls on through. But that’s only one of the charms of this converted 1883 train station in the heart of old Sykesville. Inside, the main dining room envelops a lively crowd in the warmth of its high brick walls and touches of...

Olive wainscot on beige walls embellished with some masculine floral stenciling harkens back to the small formal dining room's previous use as a gentleman's waiting area. A...
This is the best restaurant in Sykesville. They have an amazing brunch, good lunch menu & the bar menu is even good. Not to mention the dinner menu which changes often and includes food from local farms. The view from the deck is beautiful so I recommend sitting outside if the weather is nice.
Been going to this restaurant for many years. Actually had several graduation dinners here as well. For many years, great food and service. Now, seeing some slippage.
Filet mignon dinner used to include demi glaze, potato, and vegetable. Most recent was limited to the steak, risotto, and roasted Brussels. Risotto and Brussels were pretty much the only offerings with all...
My wife and I have eaten there many times. The chief is excellent. His ability to add new dishes is outstanding. We love his special multi course dinner with matching wine. This is on par with The Inn at Little Washington!! They have several special events with singers so if you like Irish songs, or folk singing look for one...
Our family booked a table for Easter brunch on Sunday, March 27. We had a table on the outside deck area next to the railroad track. The deck area (at the rear of the building) is covered with a large canopy and has retractable plastic windows that were down since it was a very cool day. It was also heated....

Minutes from Route 32 and Interstate 70, Baldwin’s Station sits in a surprisingly sleepy area of Sykesville. A former train station, Baldwin’s offers a charming atmosphere, making use of historic architecture and small spaces. Branding its cuisine as new American, some items might seem bold and adventurous, but you might be advised to stick with the norm for a classically good meal.
Baldwin's Station offers fine dining, special occasion dinners and receptions, with indoor or outdoor seating.
When to Go: Baldwin's regularly hosts acoustic music events--sometimes folk, sometimes jazz. Call for details.
Where to Sit: Plastic tables and chairs may be incongruous with the rest of the decor, but during warm weather, the outdoor seats on the patio (adjoining the Patapsco River) are the best seats in the house.
