Ok however...... So I went to this location for the first time and it is very pricey.

Authentic. With so many Greeks in Hampton roads, it's easy to find good Mediterranean food and these folks are at the top of the list. Not going to list the stars but everything is done right. Best Gyro ever. Small shop that sells everything they make plus an olive bar. All their hummus and other dips are on sale too. Love it.

I like Azars. It's not hip or trendy. But I like it because the food is tasty and a good bit healthier than the food at many restaurants. Mostly go for kebobs. Love the house salad and house dressing. The atmosphere is pleasant and it's reasonably priced. It's not exciting, but it's reliable.

Craving Azar's. Azar's was one of the first places I went when I first moved to Hampton Roads and I just love it. I frequent it for lunch and usually end up with a half shwarma and soup. During the day it is a nice casual place to order at the counter and get-it-yourself place for those of us on the clock that don't have time to be waited on necessarily. At night, they do switch over and wait...

Excellent. This is a restaurant and a store in one. They sell some very unique items for eastern Mediterranean cuisine. If you ever have enough time to stay awhile, try the hummus and pita, and of course the gyro kebabs! The tadzhik is fresh, and the Turkish coffee is strong.

Business description (1)

A haven for vegetarians and vegans with all dishes clearly marked.
Carnivores can select from chicken and lamb dishes; there are also
seafood selections. Ultra-casual cafe has a great selection of
sandwiches and heartier fare. Entire menu has Middle Eastern slant.
Adjoining retail market can supply specialties from olives and
seasonings to breads, packaged goods and desserts.
