Time requirements for an A&P program are set up by the FAA not the school.  The school must abide by the time in class and make up work to keep their operating certificate.  This is a well known and often mentioned policy that isn't a blindside.  Missing too much time and they are required by FAR 147 to fail you out and you must retake the course you timed out of.  That is federal law not...
