In a former synagogue just south of South Street, quirky vendors have stalls hawking everything from Bakelite bracelets to vintage Fiestaware to fur stoles to old fishing poles. Although this mishmash isn't exactly Freeman's , it's an odd, fun place to dig through merchandise, fall in love with a fur stole, and haggle.
In Short
Also known as South Street Antiques Market, this place set up shop in a turn-of-the-century house of worship in 1983. These days, about 25 mostly unmarked, colorful booths sell...
Based on the racist treatment of potential customers ... I will NOT be visiting this establishment.
I went there yesterday with my girlfriend who is black. They followed her around and made comments suggesting she was going to steal their rummage sale rejects. What a bunch of backwards ignorant fools!

I am one of the 7 family members that had the chance to visit Philadelphia "THE CITY OF BROTHERLY LOVE" and Antiquarians Delight. I am also another family member that was harassed by the evil man that works here. Let me just say that I have never in my life been treated the was we were treated in this store. There were (2) very pleasant young women working at the counters (the one with pink especially). This man followed us around as if we were a bunch of thieves and wispering to the other employees to make sure the cases are locked? Seriously? My purse is worth more than his weekly salary and he thinks we are going to steel his over priced junk? The first thing he said when we walked in was DON'T TOUCH THE FURS!...

Antiquarian's Delight, the indoor antique market is located in an old synagogue just off the South Street district. At least 25 dealers here sell everything from 19th Century furniture to 1930s jewelry, to 1960s clothes, to World War II propaganda.
