I was discharged from their pain management office because the receptionist doesn't do her job. I received a letter stating that I missed three appointments so I had been discharged however two of those appointments were supposed to be cancelled by the receptionist. The first one was supposed to be cancelled because I had gotten in to see the doctor a week earlier and the doctor said not to come to the appointment scheduled for a week later and that they would cancel it. The second one was supposed to be cancelled when my mom had called four days in advance because I was in a coma in the hospital but was put on hold for 30 minutes then told they would cancel the appointment however they did not so I may have missed one, still not sure about that but then when I called the office manager she never returned my calls. They will kick you out for no reason so avoid them.
Dr. Carter replaced my hip in May 2014. He came highly recommended by several people. Everyone said he was amazing but I was skeptical as this was my second replacement...."amazing doctor number 1 was not so amazing". Before seeing Dr. Carter I consulted with another surgeon who told me I would need to spend at least six weeks at home then undergo lengthy physical therapy. I went to see dr. Carter on the recommendation of a friend, and was so impressed with him. He is very down to earth, carefully reviewed my x-rays with me, explained my options, etc. I felt so at ease and comfortable with him. I had my hip replaced and was back to work in 2 weeks! I was up and walking t he same day of surgery and only spent one night in the hospital. I did two weeks of physical therapy and within a month I was on a plane for Europe where I worked and traveled for nearly two months with minimal discomfort. Absolutely the most unbelievable experience ever. If anyone is looking to have a joint replaced, Dr. Carter is the one to do it! The only negative is that it does take a while to get in to see him but he is totally worth the wait!
OUTSTANDING! It's been 11-months since my hip replacement and all is well. I never needed any pain meds from the surgery and I walked that evening. After a few days I was better than ever! All the 1 Star Reviews have it right. The office is the problem. Poorly run with no follow up and no one is paying attention when you are screaming (sometimes literally). I had bilateral total hip replacement 8 years ago this July 28th. The procedure went well, went home following day. I have referred many friends to Dr. Carter including my sister for both hips. All with great outcome and great experience with Dr. Carter, his staff and the hospital. I will be seeing him soon for knee replacements.
