Amici is my favorite Richmond restaurant. It is ALWAYS good. My favorite dish is the duck. They had a special Valentine's menu this year and the duck was not included, but the pappardelle pasta dish I had was amazing as well.

We were couple minutes early for a dinner reservation and were then provided seating right next to bathroom entrance. Thinking that it would be a easy fix given that we were the only people there, we asked to move to a table over and we were told 'no' with little to no rational explanation. Wonderful service and a nice quiet atmosphere, but the food itself was not up to the same level. I would consider this an average Italian restaurant with an above average price. Good wine list but I left really wanting a lighter, fresher tasting meal. With all the great options Richmond, I probably will not be back.

My husband and I went to Amici for Valentine's Day. We were disappointed first with our server - Lisa. She was the opposite of friendly and helpful. We were also disappointed with the fact that "no substitutions" were allowed. My husband asked to have double veg with his rockfish instead of mashed potatoes.
