This museum weaves the stories of the Union, Confederate, and African-American experiences during the Civil War into a national context. The permanent exhibit In the Cause of Liberty is housed in the old Gun Foundry, where more than 1,100 Confederate cannons were made.
Learn about the Civil War at the American Civil War Center at Historic Tredegar, a National Historic Landmark located on the banks of the James River. Exhibits featured tell the story from three perspectives; Union, Confederate and African American.
