After a few minutes of examining my central heating the guy said that there is a problem with my motor. He said that he can order a new motor for $850 or he can fix it on the spot for $650 and it would be as new. After questioning him many times he assured me that repairing it would be as new. Since it was very cold and I have small kids I decided that he should just fix it for the $650. After a few minutes he turned on the unit and it was fixed it worked again without replacing any parts. The guy said that there was a lot of dirt he had to clean it out. When the guy was finished I asked him why he was charging me $650 if nothing was wrong with the motor only the dirt had to be cleaned out. He answered I pay for his expertise. This guy told me that the motor is broken and convinced me that he can fix it as new. In reality nothing was wrong with the motor when I confronted him he did not deny it, all he had to say is that he earns it because he’s an expert. (Edited January 11, 2013)
