The movers would not wrap my furniture in shrink/plastic wrap as I was promised. The movers brought the plastic inside but would not wrap anything. Then left the plastic behind.
They only moved 1 brand new, queen size bedroom set and several boxes about 2 1/2 hours away. This was $1400 if you're curious about their pricing.
The movers scratched/gouged each piece of the set, set my mattress on the ground because they said it was heavy (not wrapped mind you) and broke a leg on my bed and did not tell me.
The owner told me I had to pay upfront before the move so I would be able to get my receipt on the day of the move. I did but they did not have a receipt for me on the day of the move. This was needed so that my company could reimburse me for the move. Jeff, the owner, ignored my calls and texts regarding this for weeks. When I finally did speak with him, he was rude, loud and kept talking over me.
He finally mailed the receipt they said was lost, about 6 months later.
He said his insurance would cover 0.60 per pound of my furniture that was damaged.
They never weighed my furniture and he sent me a check for $200.00, which was a number he said off the top of his head.
I obtained the actual weigh of each piece from the manufacturer and at 0.60 per pound, that equals to more than twice what he sent me.
Also,during the move, one of the workers, covered in tattoos, said he did not work for the company and that he was just making some extra money that weekend.
At $1,400.00 to move one bedroom set, I expected professionals. DO NOT USE THIS COMPANY!!!!!
We moved my husband from Portsmouth into my 3rd floor condo in Virginia Beach, and we had the smoothest experience ever with these guys! They were so professional, polite and thorough. Did I mention I live on the 3rd floor? They price was right and they even got done on time. I would recommend to anyone moving to use them. We were very happy with their service!
The owner who came to give me a quote was professional. The guys who moved us were awfully kind. But, though some really thoughtless behavior a valuable statue was broken as it fell off the truck through the open back door of the truck as it drove up the driveway to travel just a block to our new home. The movers said not to worry on Monday the office would handle it. The Absolutely unprofessional managers/owners have truly failed to handle it at all. Since my initial phone call to report the incident nothing has been done, even returning my phone call and email have been ignored. Either they don't have insurance or they really don't think online critique is important. Don't go with these guys. I have moved lots and their are better companies out there.
Hired movers to move my one bedroom apartment. Had to stop in Virginia Beach and Norfolk to pick up items, and the final stop was in Hampton.
Movers arrived early so that paperwork could be signed in time to start the move when it was scheduled. With the three stops, the movers got everything done in four hours. They were careful with my items (no broken items found as I unpacked) and made sure that everything was packed securely before leaving a site.
Even with a tragic discovery of water damage in my storage unit, they were still professional and pleasant. They even helped me examine items so that nothing too damaged was moved into my new place.
Completely impressed, and I will be calling them first the next time I move. Also recommended to friends.
