We had used this animal hospital in the past for our first dog when it was under the ownership of Dr. Bricker, a friend of the family, years ago.
When I was home from law school, I brought the family dog in to get a second opinion about a blood test, which indicated he had kidney failure. They told me he was very sick and would probably die (less than 50% chance of living), which was already hard to cope with, but then they charged me a new patient vet fee (when it was obvious I would not be coming back) and a doctor visit fee to tell me this. (15 min. visit). Mind you, they just read the blood test from the other office and did absolutely nothing new.
I realize this is a business, but I also overheard the vet behind closed doors telling his assistant that I was stupid for bringing my dog in. (At least close the door all the way).
My dog was my best friend and like a child to me. I do not think that I should have been criticized for seeking a second opinion. Take your dog to a place where they really care about you and your pet, not a place that just pretends to.
My experience here was horrible, from beginning to end. I brought my dog in because he had thrown up a few times within a few days. They wanted to run every test under the sun and gave me an estimate of about $500. When I told them I wasn't sure that I wanted to spend that right now, the vet made me feel like crap and told me if the money wasn't in my budget, I shouldn't have a dog. At that...
Horrible experiences, and the boarding was a joke. Terrible prices, and after we had my dog put to sleep there, I was still receiving calls about getting my dog's shots updated. They also messed up my dogs license messed up. My dogs license number was assigned to another patient. Don't recommend!
The staff there are all very nice, however the care your pet will receive at best, is average. Felt strung along whenever my dog was sick, having to keep bringing my dog in for additional exams...
The staff is very communicative and listened to my questions and helped me make the best decisions for my dogs. They are very friendly, just can use a little help with timeliness...but I know it is because they are busy! smile emoticon prices were quoted up front and I was able to discuss charges to better understand what they were for or even try to save a little here and there.
I wish I could have taken them to the west coast with me when I moved. Love these guys!
