Went to AV for the first time tonight- Great Food. Spoke to one of the waiters who informed us that AV's would only be around for another year then the building/lot was being sold to a developer. What a shame!
Just to put a finer point on the history of this place, I am 65, and my parents went there while they were still courting. So, it goes back to at least the late 1930's. I'm in the Chicago area, and haven't been back there in years, but would visit AV's in a heartbeat if I had the chance.
I have been going there for years. Recently came back to the city and I have never been disappointed.
