On the contrary, I have had a few great experiences at Fire Ninja with my family and friends. The atmosphere is asian contemporary and the lighting is subtle. The music is played low enough so you can hear it in the background and still carry on a conversation over your meal. The food is fantastic, and I have never once had an issue with a server or management. The three different servers I have had have all been accomodating if there was an issue (which the only issue was getting low sodium soy sauce on the table, but this was because they were busy). Management has always had a smiling face and seemed willing to assist the staff when needed. Great food, great location, good time! I will be back!

I have been a local "Foodie" to the Norfolk/VA Beach area for over a decade and have enjoyed the diverse food scene and friendly faces of the area. This restaurant was tipped-off to me by a fellow foodie and long-time friend. I plan to publish a full review on http://chowhound.chow.com/ in the near future, but I have a problem non-food related that I felt compelled to warn others about. Anyone that dines more than twice a month can tell you that a restaurant is MORE than just good food. Its about atmosphere and the immediate community. Luckily, this establishment is located in a great part of town where there is no shortage of friendly faces. However, herin lies the problem. I had the unfortuante pleasure of having to deal with the manager there. My server misunderstood my entree order, which is beyond forgivable given her constant attention to my dining experience, but when I explained the honest mix-up, the manager immediately stormed off to reprimand my server. I'm guessing there was some sort of language barrier because she disappeared and never did resolve the issue professionaly (or at all, really). She literally IGNORED US. After 20 minutes of watching our server come back and forth I could tell she was getting very frustrated so I eventually walked up to the front and paid for everything and left. This was definitely the worst experience I have ever had with the management of any restaurant as far as I can remember. I'm undecided as of now whether this place is worth a try or if one should just skip over it because of the poor management. Although this place can easily clean up a bit and perform as a top-rate bistro, I can't see that happening with such lack of professional customer service.
