I have been a customer for years with Steve Dowdy. Things were working well as long as I did not need actual assistance from his office. I moved. I called into his office to provide my change of address, add a new vehicle, and obtain my adjusted bill. I paid in full and though everything was taken care of insurance wise for the next 6 months. Two months later, I find out that they are still sending mail to my old address. They changed my coverage on the vehicle I just added to full (max) coverage, when I requested basic liability. And the price they quoted me, that I paid in full, did not cover the new vehicle. Not only did they choose the coverage on my vehicle without my permission, but the only notification of this change was sent to my old address, not the new one that was on file. And to top it off, they should have informed me that I should have contacted a new agent in the state where I moved, because my rates would have to be adjusted anyways. Finally, to add more insult to injury, when I called into Steve Dowdy's office to determine how things went so wrong, his staff could not understand why I was unhappy with how my account was handled. And Steve himself, was extremely rude on the phone and warned me not to speak out of turn! You would think that after messing up my account so horribly that Steve Dowdy himself could at least pretend to have some customer service skills or even apologize.
