Performances ranging from classics to innovative new works are staged Thursday through Saturday evening and on Sunday afternoon. We've been very impressed with Barksdale Theatre. Each season is diverse. Each show is very professionally produced. There is the occasionally play that isn't up my alley, but the other 4 shows of the season more than make up for it. It's about an 80 minute drive for my wife an I, but I haven't found another theatre in Virginia that beats it yet.

Spending an evening at Barksdale Theatre is one of my absolute favorite weekend activities. My family has been subscribing for about 7 years, and there has not yet been a show that I haven't enjoyed. Each season presents a variety of shows, ranging from a great American musical to a thought-provoking drama to a splashy hhit fresh from Broadway. I always love going to New York and seeing what Broadway has to offer, but it's nice to know that when the money doesn't allow it, I can almost always have just as wonderful an experience right here in Richmond.
I highly recommend Barksdale...
